Saldana’s Dominant Return, A Full Weekend of WoO
Sprint Cars And The Latest From the UMP Late Model Series, 4Wide.TV Has Your
News and Video from the World of Outlaws and DIRTcar Racing
CONCORD, N.C. – Sept. 28, 2011 – This week’s
episode of 4Wide.TVincludes the highlights
from Joey Saldana’s triumphant return to
World of Outlaws Sprint Car competition plus video highlights from
DIRTcar racing in the Midwest.
Click here to see Saldana’s first race back
at Hartford Motor Speedway on Wednesday night, where fellow drivers and fans
saw the “Brownsburg Bullet” at his best. The #9 machine rode the cushion to
victory, his first time behind the wheel in two months as he recovered from
injuries sustained at the Kings Royal back in July. However, Friday the
series took on the high banks of Eldora Speedway, a track that has brought
Saldana some of his greatest wins and harshest wrecks. Not fear, nerves or
even the retaining wall could trump Saldana’s confidence behind the wheel,
and for the second event in a row, the Kasey Kahne Racing Red Bull #9 was
back in victory lane. The series then headed east to Lernerville Speedway on
Saturday night for the Commonwealth Clash. Saldana couldn’t make it three
for three, but defending champion Jason Meyers made his fifth trip of the
season to victory lane. You won’t want to miss these highlights, because as
the schedule dwindles down, the racing heats up! We’ve got all your news and
video from the WoO Sprint Car Series right here at
4Wide.TV.
We wrap up this week’s race coverage with highlights from the 22nd Annual
$10,000 to win Prairie Dirt Classic for the
UMP Late Models from Fairbury American
Legion Speedway in Illinois. This is an event you won’t want to miss seeing,
so click here to check it out at 4Wide.TV.
In addition to all the highlights from the weekend, there are the hotly
discussed Power Rankings plus the Hot Thread of the Week that discusses fan
opinions surrounding this weekend’s showdown between the World of Outlaws
and the PA Posse at the National Open at Williams Grove and the dirt track
racing Twitter feed that brings you non-stop news and notes from around the
racing world. The Video of the Week recalls the Champion Spark Plugs Sprint
Nationals at Super DIRT Week XXIV back in 1995 and the Photo of the Week
comes from Lernerville Speedway where we see the top two championship
contenders battling side by side for position!
All that and more in only 15 minutes – check it out at
4Wide.TV, which now includes a new home page
module to help share the video with your friends on

River Cities Speedway Rev's up your engines

Auto racing at the Grand Forks Speedway has been a part
of our history since the late 1920's, but in 1999 it gets taken to a whole
other level. Along with an innovative group of partners, including Wayne
Anderson, Donny Mack, Linus Mack and Darren Evavold, came a new name and
lots of great changes.
In recent years, huge investments and improvements have been made at River
Cities Speedway. Just some of the changes include a new clay track, kitchen,
sound system and grandstands, plus additional corporate suites, total
refurbishment of the Speedway surroundings and a new focus on making racing
a fun event for people of all ages.
On Friday nights, May through mid September, this 1/3-mile track is packed
with Outlaw Sprints, Late Models, Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks all
vying for the checkered flag. A big drawing card is the fact that River
Cities is the only speedway in the Midwest which races both Outlaw Sprints
and Late Models weekly. In addition to River Cities' Premier Racing Series,
it also hosts four to six specials each year, including the World of Outlaw
Sprints and World of Outlaw Late Model Races.
Throngs of devoted race fans from the U.S. and Canada continue to fill the
stands, making River Cities one of the top racetracks in the upper Midwest.
The Canadian presence has actually grown so much that the Speedway has a
special section dubbed "Little Canada". Weekly attendance is in the
thousands and increases to as many as 6,500 when the World of Outlaws come
to town.
Not only is a night at the Speedway full of nonstop action and thrills, it's
also affordable. Parking is free and tickets for the Premier Racing Series
are just $16 for adults, $5 for kids 7 to 12 years and free for those 6 and
under. Save $3 off an adult ticket by either picking up a Visitor Bargain
Brochure at the Greater Grand Forks Visitor Center or purchasing your
tickets in advance at Home of Economy, University Station, Gateway Cenex,
StaMart, Tesoro East and El Roco. For more information, call 701.780.0999 or
visit the River Cities Speedway website.
