Saldana, McMahan and Lasoski Excited for Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown

Inside Line Promotions – SOMERTON, Ariz. (Sept. 1, 2014) – Names are beginning to fill the entry list for the inaugural Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.

More than two dozen entries have been sent in for the prestigious sprint car event, which will be held at Cocopah Speedway on Jan. 2-3, Jan. 6 and Jan. 9-10 of next year.

“We are extremely excited about the overwhelming response so far and we look forward to continue to build this event in the coming months,” Cocopah Speedway Promoter Greg Burgess said. “The level of talent from drivers and teams who have already committed is outstanding.”

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series drivers Joey Saldana and Paul McMahan are two of the premier names who have announced their intention of competing for the $12,000-to-win prize during the four weekend races and the $5,000-to-win payout for the midweek show.

“It’s a big deal,” McMahan said. “They are putting on a purse that’s better than an Outlaw paying purse. It’s going to be fun. I’ve never been there, but I’m really looking forward to going there. Any time you can get out of the cold weather in Pennsylvania and down in Arizona it’s going to be relaxing for the guys. I’ll be able to hopefully make a little bit of money and not have to travel around the world.”

While the money and weather will be a benefit, so is the opportunity to spend the holidays with family.

“I think it’s great for me,” Saldana said. “I’ve been lucky enough to go to Australia. I went for 12 or 13 years. Something like this is definitely awesome for me because my boys are 4 and 11 now so Christmas is very important. I can continue to race in the offseason and continue to race at a high level and race for good money so I’m definitely looking forward to it.”

Former World of Outlaws champion Danny Lasoski will also compete throughout the week and a half of competition at Cocopah Speedway.

“I think it’s an absolute home run for everyone,” he said. “At that time of the year the racing has been over for about two months. True race fans are dying to get back in it. Now you can see the best of the best in Arizona for two weeks. I think it’s a fantastic idea and I’m very proud to be a part of it.”

Tickets are available for sale online by visiting http://www.CocopahSpeedway.com. Additionally, anyone who purchases a ticket by Dec. 1, 2014, will receive a free fan pit pass from 2-5 p.m. on that race date.

NLRA Preview - Red River Co-Op Speedway

By http://www.nlra.org/

This Thursday night July the 17th, the NLRA will try to take mother nature out of the win column and race at the Red River Co-op Speedway near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The race is scheduled to be the series' 23rd appearance at the four-tenths mile oval that sits five minutes south of Winnipeg on Highway 75. The NLRA's first event was held at the track when it was the Victory Lane Speedway in June 1998 with Howie Schill becoming the first winner in series history.

Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Victory Circle, is the defending track champion, and leads all drivers with five previous NLRA victories at the speedway. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom is the only other series regular to win in Winnipeg, with two previous victories. Current series runner-up Ricky Weiss is undefeated in weekly action in Winnipeg this season, as he has parked the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting machine in victory lane all four times that the late models have raced there this season.

Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors Mars MB Custom, won last years' visit to Winnipeg. Pederson started seventh and took the lead from Paul Veert on lap eleven. Pederson lead the final 14 laps for his second series win in Winnipeg and seventh overall. Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71S Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, Troy Schill, driver of the No. 11 Forks Finest Auto Body Rocket, Balcaen, and Brad Seng rounded out the top five.

Paul Veert, who lead nine of the first ten laps finished sixth, while Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Hi-Per-Flex Panel Systems Pierce ran seventh. Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71 High Mark Snowmobile Rentals Bloomquist was eighth. Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Lithia Toyota/Pizza Ranch Rocket and Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch Rocket rounded out the top ten. Seng picked up his second of three consecutive hard charger awards, passing seven cars during the main event.

Brad Seng leads the NLRA point standings, with a 36 point advantage over Ricky Weiss. Pat Doar sits in the third spot, with Mike Balcaen and Dustin Strand trailing in fourth and fifth respectively. Shane Edginton in the No. 5E Avonlea Group entry holds the sixth spot, with five time World of Outlaws sprint car champion Donny Schatz sitting seventh. Dave Smith, in the No. 06 Mobil 1 Capital is eighth, while Bill Mooney and Cole Schill round out the top ten.

NLRA Rained Out At Greenbush Again
On Saturday night the NLRA was scheduled to make-up their June 14th event at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN, but a line on showers showed up at the track at six o'clock and dumped too much rain, causing a second cancellation of late model racing in Greenbush this season. Saturdays' race was the third consecutive series event to fall to rain, and the fifth rain out overall. NLRA series officials and the Greenbush Race Park are working to find a date and try a third time to race in Greenbush.

Arizona Sport Shirts Continuing As Official Merchandise Provider/Partner Of World of Outlaws Late Model Series And DIRTcar Racing In 2014

Indianapolis-Based Company Will Celebrate 40th Anniversary With Season-Long Specials For Fans & Racers CONCORD, NC – Feb. 6, 2014 – Arizona Sport Shirts has extended its commitment as the official merchandise provider and partner of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and DIRTcar Racing organization for the 2014 season.

Continuing a successful partnership with the World Racing Group-owned series that has stretched for nearly a decade, the Indianapolis-based company will have dedicated merchandise trailers at all WoO LMS and DIRTcar Summer Nationals ‘Hell Tour’ Late Model events this season as well as selected other DIRTcar-sanctioned shows to offer fans a wide selection of branded apparel and collectibles.

“I am so proud to say we have re-signed with the World Racing Group to service the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the DIRTcar Summer Nationals and DIRTcar Racing,” said Gerald Newton, Senior Vice President of Operations for Arizona Sport Shirts. “I am very involved with the series, so this is not just a business partnership for me. It goes beyond that level. You gotta have heart and a love for the sport, and we have it for these series.”

Arizona Sports Shirts’ distinctive 53-foot Featherlite ‘super trailer’ loaded with WoO LMS merchandise will once again be on hand to accommodate fans at all tracks hosting full-fender World of Outlaws races in 2014. The company’s strong presence at WoO LMS events will also include a new, better equipped ‘GottaRace.com’ merchandise trailer and, for the first time, a trailer dedicated to selling apparel for two-time WoO LMS champion Darrell Lanigan.

Arizona Sport Shirts began producing apparel and other items for the WoO LMS midway through the 2006 season. It stepped up its product line and presence at tour events in 2011 after inking an unprecedented three-year contract as the circuit’s official merchandise provider and has now extended that relationship into the future.

The 2014 racing campaign will mark the 40th anniversary of the birth of Arizona Sports Shirts – and to commemorate the milestone, the firm will give fans and racers plenty of added incentive to visit its merchandise trailers.

“We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 40th anniversary in business,” said Newton. “The fortitude and dedication of Karl Korbacher (President and founder of Arizona Sports Shirts) has brought us a long way and partnerships like the ones we have with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and DIRTcar Racing will continue taking us to even greater heights.

“Karl and all of us at Arizona Sports Shirts have an outright love of our sport and we plan to share that feeling all year with the fans and racers by doing special things in honor of our 40th anniversary. Fans will definitely want to stop by our merchandise trailers at World of Outlaws and DIRTcar Racing events to see the 40th anniversary deals we’ll be offering.”

Arizona Sport Shirts’ WoO LMS Merchandise Center will make its 2014 debut when the national tour kicks off the new season with the Bubba Army Dirt Late Model Winter Nationals Feb. 14-16 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla. The trailer will also be stationed at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., Feb. 17-22 for the Late Model portion of the DIRTcar Nationals by Summit Racing Equipment, which features DIRTcar-sanctioned events Feb. 17-19 and WoO LMS programs Feb. 20-22.

American Racing Continues Partnership with Keneric Racing
For 2014 World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Season

CERRITOS, CA (January 21, 2014) - American Racing, the nation's iconic custom wheel manufacturer, will continue its partnership with the Australian owned Keneric Racing as the naming rights sponsor of the No. 29 sprint car piloted by Kerry Madsen for the 2014 World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Season.

"After the tremendous response at the WoO World Finals at Charlotte in November, we all sat down and had a serious conversation about the potential in our newly founded relationship," said Dan Ricehouse, spokesman for American Racing. "Keneric Racing runs a first class operation; with their core business in Australia (Keneric Group) and their race team in the USA, they have made a serious commitment to run for a WoO Championship in 2014. With the "Mad Man" Kerry Madsen behind the wheel all the pieces of the puzzle are there to have a successful 2014 season; game on."

American Racing still prides itself on the mission that began in a California speed shop nearly 60 years ago with the production of a single set of lightweight, custom drag racing wheels. The company set a standard that launched the custom wheel industry and continues to set the benchmark around the world today. The Keneric Racing partnership further extends American Racing commitments to motorsports as they are the "Official Custom Wheel" and corporate partner to the World of Outlaws, and supporter of top teams and drivers in NHRA and Indy Car.
"We are extremely excited about the newly formed partnership with American Racing for the 2014 WoO sprint car season," said Peter Gavranich, General Manager and part owner of Keneric Racing. "We started on this journey back in 2011 and when we look back and reflect on where we are today, and the things that we have achieved for a privately owned Australian team, to be competing with the WoO in the USA is a pretty good thing in itself let alone the fact that we have just aligned ourselves with a corporate American company and WoO series sponsor. We have never been in a better position."

Excitement for 2014 is also at a high level for driver Kerry Madsen, "We're really looking forward to 2014. We have put in a lot of work in the off season and have been working harder than ever to prepare for our most important season to date," says Madsen. "I am proud to continue my association with Keneric Racing and the newly formed partnership with American Racing. With our new crew chief, Tyler Swank, on board I think we will be much more consistent in 2014. Since our inception we have taken small steps each year in our development as a race team and organization; we believe that we are now another step closer to achieving our goals. We are under no illusion of the expectations and the added pressure of securing a partner such as American Racing, but it's a challenge we are up for and ready for," explains Madsen.
